I know personally. Worship through music stimulates some positive, emotional, warm fuzzy feelings of being "filled" through the music (kinda self-centered, huh?)
Yet, giving, especially of money, stimulates some, maybe negative, feelings of sacrifice, or emptying even when see the just cause.
So why not feel 'filled' when giving? Should I expect to feel 'filled' when praising and worshiping God for being...well, God?

Mixed feelings as well...could be used for good but the source is tainted. An example might be a good Buddhist or Confucian saying/proverb--does it have merit? Of course...and if the listener doesn't know the source and doesn't associate negative issues with it then the saying/proverb might be beneficial. However, if the listener knows where it's from...might that listener be offended and even associate you with that source...leading to a loss of credibility (yes, even if you weren't aware because there's a lack of ability to lovingly confront)? Anyways, Rom 14 could apply here and I'd advise against using this...unfortunately I don't believe that the music from this individual (e.g. Healer) will have any value added as compared to the concern from some who may be aware of the source issue. Yes, God can take anything bad and make it good, but we are called and created with intelligence and reason to consider others above ourselves. I do appreciate however your take on this Tony...maybe a tool to call out everyone's own condition of sin...but that would need to be an object lesson carefully crafted for a large group if at all. Love ya'!!! Shake-n-Bake!

Tony, I've enjoyed Newspring's messages on podcast during my long runs. I even got two messages in last time I ran! You're 100% correct-truth! The Spirit lives and speaks truth. :-) As a specialist in pedagogue acumen (did you need to look it up?-LOL), I especially appreciate the methods he uses to bring home points. All the tools of the trade are in his belt! Shake-n-bake!

Hey. I didn't forget you....my day got insane; i'm so sorry. I'm teaching this year and kids come tomorrow....about 30 of them, high schoolers, none of whom speak English. :) Awesome. I really do want to talk...can you call me tomorrow around 4EST? That way I'll stop what I'm doing and we can chat. Looking forward to it -- RM

Prov. 30:7-9

7 "Two things I ask of you, O LORD;
       do not refuse me before I die:

8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
       give me neither poverty nor riches,
       but give me only my daily bread.

9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
       and say, 'Who is the LORD ?'
       Or I may become poor and steal,
       and so dishonor the name of my God.

Chan ask in one of his video blogs could we pray this prayer . . .

We did this once for a sermon on "Taking out The Trash". We prefilmed it of course--but our pastor got up during the announcement and his wife interuppted him that he had forgotten to take out the dirty diapers at home. He ran out the back door and we started the film. We shot him speeding down the road-running into his driveway--taking out the trash and back to the church. We had people looking out the door to see when he was coming back. They really believe it was a live shot. (It wasn't even shot at the same time of day). Anyway--it worked. Love it-your pastor wore shorts!!!

man. great vid idea. kinda reminds me of one time when i was younger and went to BigStuf and Lanny Donoho exited the building with a 'live camera' in hand and chronicled his miniature trip. really got the audience involved.
might have to go to GCGC website to check the msg out. the vid peaked my interest!
